  AN  ACT  to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to big
    game hunting in the counties of Broome, Chenango and Tioga

    THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
  BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The opening paragraph and items (f) and (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, the opening paragraph as amended by section 11 of chapter 483 of the laws of 2010, item (f) as amended by chapter 323 of the laws of 2011 and item (i) as separately amended by chapters 321 and 326 of the laws of 2011, are amended and a new item (k) is added to read as follows:
Regular open hunting seasons for [deer] BIG GAME are established sepa- rately for the named regions or parts of regions, or named counties listed in column one of the table set forth in this subdivision, and are specified as seasons for taking by pistol, rifle, shotgun, crossbow or long bow, or for taking by shotgun or long bow only, or for taking by long bow only, as indicated in column three entitled "Manner of Taking". Where taking of big game by shotgun is permitted by this chapter such shotgun may contain rifling in all or a portion of the barrel, provided, however, if the barrel or a portion thereof does contain rifling only shells having non-metallic cases, except for the base, may be used. In the areas identified in column one except in the "closed areas" speci- fied in subdivision 5 the game specified in column two may be taken in the open season stated in column two immediately following the specifi- cation of the game, in the manner specified in column three. (f) Southern tier, Deer, first Monday Pistol, shotgun, central and Western after November 15 crossbow, region, except those through first Tuesday muzzle loading firearm counties or portions after December 7 or long bow only thereof listed in item (i) [or], EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. A. 9215 2 (j) OR (K) of this paragraph (i) The counties of Deer, the first Monday Pistol, shotgun, Allegany, Cattaraugus, after November 15 crossbow, Chautauqua except through first Tuesday muzzle loading that portion of after December 7 firearm, rifle or the county north of long bow only route 20, Chemung, [Chenango,] Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Oswego, Otsego, Schoharie, Schuyler, Steuben, [Tioga,] Wyoming and Yates [and that portion of the county of Broome east of the Susquehanna river] (K) THE COUNTIES OF DEAR AND BEAR, PISTOL, SHOTGUN, OF BROOME, CHENANGO THE FIRST MONDAY CROSSBOW, MUZZLE AND TIOGA AFTER NOVEMBER 15 LOADING FIREARM, THROUGH THE FIRST RIFLE OR LONG TUESDAY AFTER BOW ONLY DECEMBER 7 S 2. Items (f) and (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as amended by section 11 of chapter 483 of the laws of 2010, are amended and a new item (j) is added to read as follows:

A. 9215 3 (J) THE COUNTIES OF DEER AND BEAR, THE PISTOL, SHOTGUN, BROOME, CHENANGO FIRST MONDAY CROSSBOW, MUZZLE AND TIOGA AFTER NOVEMBER LOADING FIREARM, 15 THROUGH THE FIRST RIFLE OR LONG TUESDAY AFTER BOW ONLY DECEMBER 7 S 3. Item (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as separately amended by sections 1 of chapters 173, 202 and 203 of the laws of 2011, is amended to read as follows:
(i) The counties of Deer and bear, the Pistol, shotgun, Allegany, BROOME, first Monday after crossbow, Cattaraugus, November 15 through muzzle loading Chemung, Chenango, first Tuesday after firearm, rifle or Herkimer, Madison, December 7 long bow only Montgomery, Oneida, Oswego, Otsego, Schoharie, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, and Yates [and that portion of the county of Broome east of the Susquehanna river] S 4. Item (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as separately amended by sections 2 of chapters 173, 202 and 203 of the laws of 2011, is amended to read as follows:
(i) The counties of Deer and bear, the Pistol, shotgun, Allegany, BROOME, first Monday after muzzle loading Cattaraugus, November 15 through firearm, rifle or Chemung, Chenango, first Tuesday after long bow only Herkimer, Madison, December 7 Montgomery, Oneida, Oswego, Otsego, Schoharie, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, and Yates[, and that portion of the county of Broome east of the Susquehanna river] S 5. This act shall take effect immediately, provided that the amend- ments to paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environ- mental conservation law made by section one of this act shall be subject to the expiration and reversion of such paragraph pursuant to chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended, when upon such date the provisions of section two of this act shall take effect; the amendments to para- graph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conser- vation law made by section two of this act shall be subject to the expi- ration and reversion of such item pursuant to section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended, when upon such date the provisions of section three of this act shall take effect; provided further, that the amendments to item (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section
A. 9215 4 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law made by section three of this act shall be subject to the expiration and reversion of such item pursuant to section 17 of chapter 483 of the laws of 2010, as amended, when upon such date the provisions of section four of this act shall take effect.
