  AN ACT to amend chapter 658 of the laws of 2002, amending the  education
    law,  relating to citizenship requirements for permanent certification
    as a teacher, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof

    THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
  BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:


    Section  1. Section 2 of chapter 658 of the laws of 2002, amending the
  education law relating to citizenship requirements for permanent certif-
  ication as a teacher, as amended by chapter 612 of the laws of 2007,  is
  amended to read as follows:

    S  2.  This act shall take effect immediately, and shall expire and be
  deemed repealed November 30, [2012] 2017.
    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
