ATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Inter- al Goodwill Days Event S, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the great of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good works se patriotic and civic-minded community members who dedicate their and careers to the service of others; and EAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long- ng traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem- the 60th Anniversary of the International Goodwill Days Event, to ebrated on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Thousand Island's , Alexandria Bay, New York; and EAS, Sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legions and the American s, the International Goodwill Days Event attracts many Legion- , their families, veterans and members of the public; and EAS, Goodwill Days started six years after the end of World War II American Legionnaires from Clayton, Alexandria Bay, and Cape t meeting with Canadian Legionnaires from Kingston, Bath, Brock- and Gananoque; each year, this annual festivity alternates n Canadian and American locations; and EAS, The schedule of events consists of a Memorial service, a , food and refreshments, and fellowship among all; and EAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ- nd organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are t to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by e citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it LVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to orate the 60th Anniversary of the International Goodwill Days and be it further LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran- d to John Konkol, American Chairman, International Goodwill tee.
