ATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Amy C. Cymerman upon the occasion eiving the distinguished Girl Scout Gold Award, the most presti- of Scouting honors S, Amy C. Cymerman, through her diligence and rigorous efforts, hieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious honor, the Girl Gold Award; she will be honored by Girl Scouts of Western New Pittsford Service Unit at a special Court of Awards ceremony on , June 12, 2011; and EAS, A student at Pittsford Sutherland High School, Amy C. Cymer- a member of Girl Scouts of America Troop 60949 in Pittsford; and EAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through edication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding ns of this nation; and EAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and EAS, Girl Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to the pment of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation; and EAS, Since 1980, Senior Girl Scouts have capped their years of ement in Girl Scouting with the Girl Scout Gold Award; and EAS, In order to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award, a girl must l five requirements; chief among them is the design and completion old Award Project; this project must build upon the interests of rl, provide a service to the community, and be of lasting benefit; EAS, For her Gold Award project entitled Ronald McDonald House nt Resource Guide, Amy C. Cymerman created a Guest Reference Manu- the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester; and EAS, The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester provides a way-from-home for families who need to be near their children they are receiving health care in Rochester area hospitals; it supports the health and well-being of children and their families broader Rochester community by encouraging a healthy lifestyle they are dealing with a very stressful situation during their stay Ronald McDonald House; and EAS, Amy C. Cymerman specifically wanted to help the Ronald McDo- ouse with its mission of providing a healthy lifestyle for resi- providing something for the Ronald McDonald House they could not or themselves; she also wanted to try to encourage residents to ways of relieving the stress in their lives, which would enable o be in a better position to support their hospitalized children, l as help them to not let the stress affect their own health; and EAS, The reference manual Amy C. Cymerman prepared well-serves urpose; it provides residents with information on healthy eating for people on the run, simple exercises for relieving stress that e done anywhere and with no equipment, suggestions for healthy to eat near the Ronald McDonald House, and information on the benefits of other exercises and of something as simple as walk- long with specific instructions for walking on the Erie Canal is located at the back of the Ronald McDonald House; and EAS, An outstanding young woman, Amy C. Cymerman has been involved outing for years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has ed all of the necessary achievements for the Girl Scout Gold and EAS, Amy C. Cymerman is a credit to her family, her school, her ity, her State and her nation, and no doubt her future will be with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it LVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in ition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to tulate and honor Amy C. Cymerman upon the occasion of her desig- as the recipient of a Girl Scout Gold Award; and be it further LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran- d to Amy C. Cymerman.
