 ATIVE  RESOLUTION  commemorating  the 50th Anniversary of Westcott
 t

 S, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that  the
 y  and  character of life in the communities across New York State
 flective of the concerned and dedicated  efforts  of  those  busi-
   and  individuals who are devoted to the welfare of the community
 s citizenry; and
 EAS, It is also the sense of this Legislative  Body  to  recognize
 mmend those who work to better their local community and work hard
 p a local tradition alive; and
 EAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
 ng traditions, this Legislative Body is justly  proud  to  commem-
 the 50th Anniversary of Westcott Florist; and
 EAS,  A  family-owned  and operated business, Westcott Florist has
  the Syracuse community since 1961, when Dino Centra, Sr. and  his
 ife, Rita, opened the shop in the Westcott neighborhood; and
 EAS,  Throughout  its  50  years in business, Westcott Florist has
 itself into the cultural and diverse Westcott  business  district;

 EAS,  After  five  decades  of dedicated service to its community,
 tt Florist has helped community members recognize both  happy  and
 casions with floral arrangements and gifts to its loyal customers;

 EAS, Since 1961, Westcott Florist has stayed current with changing
  in order to satisfy the needs and desires of their customers, and
 ues to serve the community; and
 EAS, Over the years, Westcott Florist has expanded  from  a  small
 ront  to  occupy  the  entire building at 548 Westcott Street, now
 ing the first and second floors; and
 EAS, Dino Centra, Sr. and his wife raised two sons, Dino, Jr., who
 rked with his father at Westcott Florist for 38 years,  and  John,
 s  currently  a  Justice of the Appellate Division of the New York
 Supreme Court; today, Dino, Sr.   is  the  loving  grandfather  of
 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and
 EAS,  It  is the custom of this Legislative Body that when a busi-
 f such noble aims and enviable accomplishments is brought  to  our
 ion,  it should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of
 reat Empire State; now, therefore, be it
 LVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
 orate the 50th Anniversary of Westcott Florist; and be it further
 LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
