 ATIVE  RESOLUTION  commending Katherine Trice upon the occasion of
 ing the Girl Scout Silver Award

 S, Katherine Trice is a member of Corning, New York Girl Scouts of
 a Troop 40673 affiliated with the Girl Scouts of  NYPENN  Pathways
 l; and
 EAS,  Through  her diligence and rigorous efforts, Katherine Trice
 rned Cadette Girl Scouting's highest and most  prestigious  honor,
 irl  Scout  Silver Award for 11 to 14-year-old girls in Grades 6-8
 rl Scouting's second highest achievement; and
 EAS, She will be honored at a Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways Young
 of Distinction event in May 2012; and
 EAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our nation's young people the
 of building solid values of sisterhood and the importance of work-
 th others, stimulating both mind and body, instilling  pride,  and
 aging community service and success; and
 EAS,  Girl  Scouting  has  expanded  the horizons of the countless
 women who have participated in the programs which have  made  Girl
 ng an American and international institution; and
 EAS,  To  earn  the  Silver  Award, Katherine Trice completed five
 ements; the first  four  requirements  help  girls  build  skills,
 e  careers, gain leadership skills, and make a commitment to self-
 ement and are followed by the completion of the fifth requirement,
 ainable Silver Award community  service  project  which  Katherine
 planned, developed and executed and which will impact the communi-
  many years to come; and
 EAS, The Silver Award symbolizes an 11 to 14-year-old Cadette Girl
 s accomplishments in Girl Scouting and community activities as she
 s  and  works  to  better  her life and the lives of others; it is
 le evidence of Katherine Trice's high  character  and  commitment,
 s  a  harbinger  of  her future service to her community, New York
 and our nation; now, therefore, be it
 LVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
   congratulate  Katherine  Trice,  recognizing  her achievement in
 g the Girl Scout Silver Award and wishing her success, health  and
 ess; and be it further
