 ATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Mary Lawrence upon the occasion of
 ing  the distinguished Girl Scout Gold Award, the most prestigious
 uting honors

 S, Mary Lawrence is a member of Ogdensburg, New York  Girl  Scouts
 erica  Troop 51401 affiliated with the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Path-
 ouncil; and
 EAS, Mary Lawrence, through her diligence  and  rigorous  efforts,
 chieved  Scouting's  highest  and most prestigious honor, the Girl
 Gold Award; she will be honored at a Girl Scouts of  NYPENN  Path-
 oung Women of Distinction event in May 2012; and
 EAS,  America  has  achieved her greatest heights of glory through
 dication, determination and tireless efforts  of  the  outstanding
 ns of this nation; and
 EAS,  It  is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
  tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
 EAS, Girl Scouts of America and its members are dedicated  to  the
 pment of character and leadership in the youth of this nation; and
 EAS,  Since  1980,  Senior  Girl Scouts in Grades 9-12 have capped
 years of achievement in Girl Scouting with  the  Girl  Scout  Gold
  and
 EAS,  In  order  to  earn  the  Girl Scout Gold Award, a girl must
 l five requirements; chief among them is the design and completion
 old Award project; this project must build upon the  interests  of
 rl, provide a service to the community, and be of lasting benefit;

 EAS,  For  her Gold Award project, Mary Lawrence, with the help of
 rth Club, built an herb garden to use in the school cafeteria; and
 EAS, This outstanding young woman has been  involved  in  Scouting
 ars, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has attained all of the
 ary achievements; and
 EAS,  Mary  Lawrence  is  a  credit to her family, her school, her
 ity, her State and her nation, and no doubt  her  future  will  be
  with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
 LVED,  That  this  Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
 ition of the significance  of  this  meritorious  achievement,  to
 tulate  and  honor  Mary  Lawrence upon the occasion of her desig-
  as the recipient of a Girl Scout Gold Award; and be it further
 LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
 d to Mary Lawrence.
