ATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Nathan Curtin upon the occasion of ing the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the most prestigious of ng honors S, Nathan Curtin, through his diligence and rigorous efforts, has ed Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank, Eagle Scout; he onored at an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony held at the First gational Church in Sidney, New York on January 22, 2012; and EAS, The son of Chris and Nathan Curtin of Sidney Center, New Nathan Curtin began his Scouting career as a Cub Scout of Pack 59 onville and is a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 99; and EAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through edication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding ns of this Nation; and EAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and EAS, The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to velopment of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation; EAS, The highest achievement of leadership in Scouting, earned by five percent of all Boy Scouts, is the distinguished rank of Eagle and EAS, While working toward the rank of Eagle Scout, Nathan Curtin 36 merit badges, spent 86 nights camping, was elected to the of the Arrow and provided over 83 hours of service to his local ity; and EAS, This outstanding young man has been involved in Scouting for ears, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has attained all of ecessary achievements, including completion of a community service t, which was successfully planned, developed and executed; and EAS, After visiting the Wolf Mountain Nature Center in Smyrna and ng that people who could not navigate stairs were unable to enter ucation center/gift shop, for his Eagle project Nathan Curtin, the help of his fellow Scouts and adult volunteers, designed and a handicap ramp which met Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ements, raised the funds for materials, and coordinated the work se generously assisting him; and EAS, Nathan Curtin's perseverance in rising through the ranks to Scout is a strong indication of his ability to master difficult his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as a leader, fully ed to meet the challenges of today's complex society; and EAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school, mmunity, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it LVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in ition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to tulate and honor Nathan Curtin on achieving the rank of Eagle and be it further LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran- d to Nathan Curtin.
