 ATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Community Council for Medgar Evers
 e upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Spring Leadership Awards
 on  on April 21, 2012, and recognizing the day's outstanding hono-


 S, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that  the
 y  and  character of life in the communities across New York State
 flective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
 and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of  the

 EAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
 ng traditions, this Legislative Body is justly  proud  to  commend
 ommunity  Council  for  Medgar  Evers College upon the occasion of
 g its Annual Spring Leadership Awards Luncheon, and pay just trib-
  the day's honorees on Saturday, April 21, 2012,  to  be  held  at
  Evers College in Brooklyn, New York; and
 EAS,  The Community Council for Medgar Evers College was formed in
 rly 1960s at the insistence of community residents to establish  a
 ear college in the Central Brooklyn Community; and
 EAS,  In  1972, the Community Council for Medgar Evers College was
 orated as a not-for-profit organization; and
 EAS, The Community Council for Medgar Evers College  includes  all
 nts, organizations, faculty, students and all elected officials of
 ntral Brooklyn community; and
 EAS,  The  Community  Council  for  Medgar  Evers College actively
 ipates in providing support to the mission  of  the  College,  and
  1980,  has  provided  scholarships  to deserving students through
 ising events, outside grants and contributions; and
 EAS, The Community Council for  Medgar  Evers  College,  upon  the
 on  of  hosting  its  Annual Spring Leadership Awards Luncheon, is
 to acknowledge the following 2012 honorees: Colette Burnett, Chief
 ive Officer, Super Wings NY (Business Leadership  Award);  Jacque-
 ennedy-Saddler, Vice President, Center Light Health System (Commu-
 Service  Leadership  Award);  Rev.  Dr. Daran H. Mitchell, Pastor,
 A.M.E. Zion Church (Ecumenical  Leadership  Award);  Dean  Richard
   Medgar  Evers College, CUNY (Education Leadership Award); Ashlee
 d, Class of 2012, Medgar Evers College Preparatory  School  (Youth
 ship Award); Agnes M. Abraham, Special Assistant to the Vice Chan-
  for Student Affairs, CUNY (Appreciation Award); and
 EAS,  It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
 and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought
  attention, it is appropriate to  publicly  proclaim  and  commend
  individuals  for  the  edification  and emulation of others; now,
