 LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring the Women's Club of Rosendale upon the
 occasion of its 80th Anniversary
 WHEREAS, It is the sense of  this  Legislative  Body  to  commend  those
 illustrious  organizations  within the State of New York whose focus and
 intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of  life  in  their
 communities; and
 WHEREAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long
 standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor  the
 Women's  Club of Rosendale, New York upon the occasion of its 80th Anni
 versary; and
 WHEREAS, The Women's Club of Rosendale  will  proudly  celebrate  this
 auspicious  occasion with a dinner to be held at the Rosendale Community
 Center on Thursday, May 10, 2012; and
 WHEREAS, The Women's Club of Rosendale meets on the second Thursday of
 each month; its meetings open with the Pledge of Allegiance followed  by
 a  discussion  of new and old business and a guest speaker, and conclude
 with thoughts about new and exciting ways to serve their  Ulster  County
 town; and
 WHEREAS,  The  success  of  the Women's Club of Rosendale is in direct
 correlation to the efforts of  its  members,  past  and  present,  whose
 involvement  is,  and  always  has  been, characterized by an impressive
 commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising  standard  of
 excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the Rosen
 dale, New York community it serves; and
 WHEREAS,  Since  1932,  when  the Women's Club of Rosendale was estab
 lished, its members have striven to support and enrich their  community;
 its  many  programs  and  worthy  endeavors  include a Loan Closet which
 provides, free of charge, wheelchairs, walkers and  other  equipment  to
 anyone  in  need,  sponsorship of an annual scholarship for a graduating
 senior from the Rosendale community, Hudson Valley Blood Drives,  and  a
 town-wide clean sweep program, sprucing up the gardens and grounds; and
 WHEREAS,  The  Women's  Club  of  Rosendale,  in honor of its longtime
 promotion of literacy, collects  magazines,  books,  and  other  reading
 materials  and  donates them to various area nursing homes, correctional
 facilities, and rehabilitation centers; it  also  continuously  collects
 for its Food Pantry, sends packages to those serving in the military and
 participates in the town-wide beautification program; and
 WHEREAS, During the holiday season, Women's Club of Rosendale members,
 in  addition,  also  prepare  and deliver food baskets to less fortunate
 members of the community and contribute their time and talent  preparing
 food  for  the  Chefs Dinner, a free community-based holiday dinner held
 annually on December 25th, Christmas Day; and
 WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when  organiza
 tions  of  such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten
 tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all  the  citizens  of
 the great State of New York; and
 WHEREAS,  In  light  of  its  commitment,  dedication,  and successful
 efforts, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to extend its  highest
 commendation to the Women's Club of Rosendale; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
 honor the Women's Club of Rosendale upon the occasion of its 80th  Anni
 versary,  fully  confident  that  it  will continue to enjoy the success
 which has so characterized its past and that it  and  its  members  will
 continue  to  be  involved and valued members of the Rosendale, New York
 community; and be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran
 smitted to the Women's Club of Rosendale.
