 ATIVE  RESOLUTION  commemorating  the  25th Anniversary of the New
 mmigration Coalition

 S, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that  the
 y  and  character of life in the communities across New York State

 EAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
 ng traditions, this Legislative Body is justly  proud  to  commem-
 the 25th Anniversary of the New York Immigration Coalition; and
 EAS, The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) was founded in 1987

 EAS, The New York Immigration Coalition advocates for  nearly  200
   across New York City, uniting its multi-racial, multi-ethnic and
 sector  members  and  supporting  positive  social  and  political

 EAS,  The  New  York Immigration Coalition works to increase civic
 ipation in  the  immigrant  community,  especially  through  voter
 ration and policy advocacy at both the local and state levels; and
 EAS,  In  order  to create leadership opportunities for immigrants
  New York City, the New York Immigration Coalition has  built  and
 ted  the  Immigrant  Advocacy  Fellowship  Program  and  Immigrant
 ns Training Institute, and has invested in  the  creation  of  the
 eneration of advocates for immigrant civil liberties; and
 EAS,  The  New  York  Immigration  Coalition serves as a community
 or, producing brochures and publishing information on health  care
 es, and safe and affordable housing; and
 EAS,  The  New  York  Immigration  Coalition strives to break down
 rs  and  stigmas  surrounding  the  immigrant  community   through
 ch to the residents of New York City and its policymakers; and
 EAS,  In  order to realize the dream of shared prosperity, the New
 mmigrant Coalition fights for solutions that benefit all Americans
 hold the dignity of all individuals, and  serves  to  welcome  and

 EAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
