ATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Town gor, New York S, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor and commem- the distinguished histories of the communities which comprise the body of this great Empire State; and EAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long- ng traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem- the 200th Anniversary of the Town of Bangor, in Franklin County, rk; and EAS, In honor of this most auspicious occasion, the Bangor Town l is preparing a celebration of the town's bicentennial that will with a ceremony on Friday, June 15, 2012 and last through Monday, 1, 2013; and EAS, The Town of Bangor, New York's first settler was Joseph Plub, rved in the American Revolution and came to the town in 1804 from eboro, Vermont; and EAS, A state law was passed on June 15, 1812, splitting the Town gor from Dickinson; and EAS, On April 1, 1813, a law took effect that officially made the f Bangor Franklin County's fifth town; and EAS, Today, the Town of Bangor is the fifth-oldest town of 19 ips in Franklin County; and EAS, Remaining fruitful over the ebb and flow of decades of growth ange, the Town of Bangor continues its commitment to enhancing the y of life of its citizens, ensuring a positive business, institu- and educational climate, and providing all essential services; herefore, be it LVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to orate the 200th Anniversary of the Town of Bangor, New York, izing the significance of the role it continues to play in the f the community of the State of New York; and be it further LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran- d to the Town of Bangor, New York.
