ATIVE RESOLUTION recognizing March of 2011, as Women's History S, The State of New York takes great pride in participating in of recognition; and EAS, March 2011 has been declared Women's History Month; the theme e year is "Our History is Our Strength"; and EAS, Our nation has been greatly strengthened through the valuable butions of women of every race, ethnic background, and class; and EAS, Women play important economic, social, and cultural roles in a through their contributions to the workforce both inside and e of the home; and EAS, They also were instrumental in the establishment of early able, philanthropic, and cultural institutions in America; and EAS, Throughout history, women have been leaders in several major nts, including abolition, emancipation, industrial labor, and rights; and EAS, Schenectady Business and Professional Women (BPW) will cele- Women's History Month with several events throughout the month of culminating with a panel discussion on March 22nd; and EAS, Schenectady BPW has a long and distinguished history of work- behalf of employed women; and EAS, The State of New York is pleased to join this outstanding zation in celebrating Women's History Month; now, therefore, be it LVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to ize March of 2011, as Women's History Month; and be it further LVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran- d to BPW President Jane Osterhout and Women's History Month Cele- n Chair Michele Paludi.
