 LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the St. Lawrence Thunder Bantam 14
 and  under  Boys Hockey Team upon the occasion of capturing the New York
 State Tier II Championship
 WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and  physical  develop
 ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
 instilling  in  them  the  value  of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
 healthy living, imparting a desire for success and developing a sense of
 fair play and competition; and
 WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long
 standing  traditions,  it  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative Body to
 congratulate the St. Lawrence Thunder Bantam 14 and  under  Boys  Hockey
 Team upon the occasion of capturing the New York State Tier II Champion
 ship; and
 WHEREAS, The state championship game was a rematch as the Thunder fell
 behind to Long Island 3-0 before scoring four unanswered goals staging a
 comeback in the final 24 minutes to win 4-3; and
 WHEREAS, The Thunder then advanced to the USA National Tier tournament
 competing in the national championship game in Wayne, New Jersey; and
 WHEREAS,  The  athletic  talent displayed by this team is due in great
 part to the efforts of Coaches Bobby Smith, John Hart and Todd  Manning,
 skilled  and inspirational tutors who have done a superb job in guiding,
 molding and inspiring the team members toward their goals; and
 WHEREAS, Loyally  and  enthusiastically  supported  by  family,  fans,
 friends  and  the  community  at  large, the members of the St. Lawrence
 Thunder Bantam 14 and  under  Boys  Hockey  Team  have  clearly  made  a
 contribution  to  the  spirit  of excellence which is a tradition of the
 north country region; and
 WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and
 accomplishment, and the outstanding athletes on the St. Lawrence Thunder
 Bantam 14 and under Boys Hockey Team have clearly proven  themselves  to
 be a reflection of those values; and
 WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of this Legislative Body that when young
 people who represent their community with pride and determination  while
 participating  in  competitive sports are brought to our attention, they
 should be celebrated and recognized by all the  citizens  of  the  great
 State of New York; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
 congratulate the St. Lawrence Thunder Bantam 14 and  under  Boys  Hockey
 Team  ; its members: Logan Brothers, Bailey Hewlett, Chad Varney, Jordan
 Robert, Bailey Conklin,  Wyatt  Wilmshurst,  Ben  Sprague,  Logan  Ford,
 Hayden  Hart,  Brandin Cousineau, J.D.  Greenway, Shane Cryderman, Tyler
 Fobare, Maddox Merry, Kaden Pickering, Patrick Manning, Jon  Paul  Chau
 vin, Austin Cousineau and Nathan Burnett; and Coaches: Bobby Smith, John
 Hart and Todd Manning; upon the occasion of capturing the New York State
 Tier II Championship; and be it further
 RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran
 smitted  to  the  St.  Lawrence  Thunder Bantam 14 and under Boys Hockey
 Team.
