ATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 90th Anniversary of Ridgewood s Bank S, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the mile- of institutions which serve the citizens and businesses of the of New York; and EAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long- ng traditions, this Legislative Body is proud to commemorate the nniversary of Ridgewood Savings Bank; and EAS, Ridgewood Savings Bank has grown to become one of the largest savings bank in New York State, with $4.6 billion in assets and 5 branches serving customers throughout the five boroughs, on Long and Westchester County; and EAS, The origins of Ridgewood Savings Bank go back to 1921, when al businessmen got together at a meeting in Ridgewood, Queens with rpose of organizing and forming a new mutual savings bank to serve eds of the community; and EAS, The bank was charted that same year and its original head- rs was in a converted taproom at Myrtle and Forest Avenues in ood, Queens; in 1929, the cornerstone was laid for a new headquar- n the same site; and EAS, The history of Ridgewood and the bank's legacy in the borough he focus of a talk by Richard Hourahan of the Queens Historical y; and EAS, Ridgewood Savings Bank has distinguished itself through its nding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring ment to the Queens community; and EAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body commends ood Savings Bank for its excellence and for its commitment and butions to the community it has so ably served for 90 years; now, ore, be it LVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to orate the 90th Anniversary of Ridgewood Savings Bank, fully confi- that in its future, it will enjoy the same success which has char- zed its past; and be it further LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran- d to Ridgewood Savings Bank.
