ATIVE RESOLUTION commending Chautauqua County upon the occasion of ating its Bicentennial on February 9, 2011 S, Chautauqua County was officially established in February of nd celebrates 200 years of rich history; and EAS, Chautauqua County is home to manufacturing, retail, health nd service industries, tourism, farming, and food processing; and EAS, Chautauqua County hosts institutions of higher learning, such mestown Community College, SUNY Fredonia, Chautauqua Institution, ger Tory Peterson Institute, and the Jackson Center; and EAS, Chautauqua County had the first community college in New York the first natural gas well in the United States, the first grange world, and the oldest lighthouse on the Great Lakes and the first ouse ever to be lighted by natural gas; and EAS, Chautauqua County has been home to many prominent New York and United States citizens, has outstanding four season recre- l opportunities, and hosts some of the most beautiful land in the now, therefore, be it LVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to d Chautauqua County upon the occasion of celebrating its Bicenten- n February 9, 2011; and be it further LVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran- d to Chautauqua County.
