.SO DOCS R6559 RESO TEXT 2009 SENATE RESOLUTION amending Rule V of the Senate rules, in relation to hours in which voting shall not be conducted RESOLVED, That section 2 of Rule V of the Senate rules is amended to read as follows:
? 2. Hours in session. No session shall be held between 12:00 A.M. and 8:00 A.M.; [provided, however, that] NEVERTHELESS, the Senate may remain in session to [complete action] CONTINUE DEBATE on a measure or measures upon which debate was begun prior to 12:00 A.M. PROVIDED, HOWEVER, NO RECORDED VOTES SHALL BE CAST BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 P.M. AND 8:00 A.M. UNLESS THE GOVERNOR DECLARES AN EMERGENCY SITUATION or [to act on a measure or measures for which] a message of necessity has been received from the Governor or upon a majority vote of all of the members elected to the Senate.
