ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: The Senate will come to order.
         I ask everyone present to please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance.
         (Whereupon, the assemblage recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.)

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: In the absence of clergy, may we all now bow our heads in a moment of silence.
         (Whereupon, the assemblage respected a moment of silence.)

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: Reading of the Journal.
         THE SECRETARY: In Senate, Wednesday, March 9th, the Senate met pursuant to adjournment. The Journal of Tuesday, March 8th, was read and approved. On motion, Senate adjourned.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: Without objection, the Journal stands approved as read.
         Presentation of petitions.
         Messages from the Assembly.
         Messages from the Governor.
         Reports of standing committees.
         Reports of select committees.
         Communications and reports from state officers.
         Motions and resolutions.

SENATOR LIBOUS: Mr. President, there being no motions and resolutions, we will go to the reading of the noncontroversial calendar.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: The Secretary will read.
         THE SECRETARY: Calendar Number 52, by Senator Klein, Senate Print 1523, an act to amend the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: Read the last section.
         THE SECRETARY: Section 2. This act shall take effect on the 90th day.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: Call the roll.
         (The Secretary called the roll.)
         THE SECRETARY: Ayes, 43.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: The bill is passed.
         THE SECRETARY: Calendar Number 106, by Senator Libous, Senate Print 2462, an act to amend the Environmental Conservation Law.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: Read the last section.
         THE SECRETARY: Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: Call the roll.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: The bill is passed.
         THE SECRETARY: Calendar Number 150, by Senator LaValle, Senate Print 2987, an act to amend the Business Corporation Law and the Education Law.

         THE SECRETARY: Section 17. This act shall take effect January 1.

         On behalf of Senator LaValle, Mr. President, on page 8 I offer the following amendments to Calendar Number 15, Senate Print 1456, and ask that said bill retain its place on the Third Reading Calendar.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: The amendments are received, and the bill will retain its place on the calendar.
         Senator Libous.

SENATOR LIBOUS: Mr. President, Senator Sampson, in consultation with Senator Skelos, would like to hand up the following committee assignments.

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: It will be filed in the Journal.
         Senator Libous.

SENATOR LIBOUS: Mr. President, in the area of announcements, there will be an immediate Republican conference following session.
         Is there any further business at the desk?

ACTING PRESIDENT ROBACH: No, Senator Libous, there is none.

SENATOR LIBOUS: There being no further business at the desk, Mr. President, I move that the Senate adjourn until Monday, March 14th, at 3:00 p.m., intervening days being legislative days.
