       AN  ACT to amend the state law, in relation to designating the Langhein-
         rich Fossil Quarry as the home of the New York state fossil

         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

    1    Section 1. Section 83 of the state law, as added by chapter 279 of the
    2  laws of 1984, is amended to read as follows:
    3    S 83. State  fossil.  The  Eurypterus  remipes  shall  be the official
    4  fossil of the state of New York,  AND  THE  LANGHEINRICH  FOSSIL  QUARRY
    5  SHALL BE THE OFFICIAL HOME OF THE NEW YORK STATE FOSSIL.
    6    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
