AN ACT to authorize certain health care professionals licensed to prac-
tice in other jurisdictions to practice in this state in connection
with an event sanctioned by the World Police and Fire Games Feder-
ation; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration
thereof
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of law, any
2 person who is licensed to practice as a physician, physician's assist-
3 ant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist, opto-
4 metrist, nurse, nurse practitioner or podiatrist in another state or
5 territory, who is in good standing in such state or territory and who
6 has been appointed by the World Police and Fire Games Federation to
7 provide professional services at an event in this state sanctioned by
8 the World Police and Fire Games Federation, may provide such profes-
9 sional services to athletes and team personnel registered to train at a
10 location in this state or registered to compete in an event conducted
11 under the sanction of the World Police and Fire Games Federation in the
12 state without first being licensed pursuant to the provisions of title 8
13 of the education law. Such services shall be provided for the period
14 beginning four days prior to and ending one day following such event.
15 S 2. This act shall take effect August 22, 2011 and shall expire and
16 be deemed repealed September 9, 2011.
