       AN ACT to amend the state law, in relation  to  the  September  eleventh
         national remembrance flag

         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

    1    Section 1. The closing paragraph of section 70 of  the  state  law  is
    2  amended to read as follows:
    3    State flag. [The] EXCEPT ON SEPTEMBER ELEVENTH OF EACH YEAR, THE state
    4  flag  is  hereby declared to be blue, charged with the arms of the state
    5  in the colors as described in the blazon of this section.  ON  SEPTEMBER
    6  ELEVENTH  OF  EACH  YEAR,  THE  STATE  FLAG IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE THE
    7  NATIONAL REMEMBRANCE FLAG.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
