AN ACT to amend the insurance law, in relation to insuring motor vehi cles used for volunteer firefighting
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
Section 3425 of the insurance law is amended by adding a new subsection (s) to read as follows:
(S) WITH RESPECT TO AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE, NO INSURER SHALL REFUSE TO ISSUE OR RENEW A COVERED INDIVIDUALLY-OWNED PRIVATE PASSENGER POLICY SOLELY ON THE GROUND THAT THE MOTOR VEHICLE TO BE INSURED UNDER SUCH POLICY SHALL BE USED FOR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTING.
S 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD04195-01-1
