ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee
AN ACT to authorize Alexander Nicholas to take the competitive civil
service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment
as a full-time police officer for the village of Greenwood Lake, coun-
ty of Orange
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil
service law, or any other law to the contrary, Alexander Nicholas, who
has been continuously employed by the village of Greenwood Lake, in the
county of Orange, as a part-time patrolman, shall be eligible to take
the competitive civil service examination for the position of police
officer and shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be
eligible to be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-
time patrolman for the village of Greenwood Lake.
S 2. Alexander Nicholas shall otherwise be subject to the merit and
fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time
police officers.
S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
