MAGEE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to volunteer wilderness/inland search and rescue teams THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 209-bb of the general municipal law is amended by adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows: 3. WHENEVER A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OR OTHER STATE AGENCY IS ENGAGED IN A SEARCH OR RESCUE OPERATION, ANY VOLUNTEER WILDERNESS/INLAND SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM INVOLVED IN SUCH OPERATION SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE COMMAND AND CONTROL OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT OR OTHER STATE AGENCY CONDUCTING SUCH OPERATION.
