AN  ACT  to grant Cole Samsel eligibility for permanent appointment as a
  police officer with the police department of the village of Oxford, in
  the county of Chenango

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. Notwithstanding any provision of paragraph (a) of subdivi-
sion 1 or subdivision 4 of section 58 of the civil service  law  to  the
contrary,  Cole  Samsel, who previously received a permanent appointment
in the competitive class of civil service as a police officer  with  the
sheriff's department of the county of Chenango, resigned from such posi-
tion  after  several  years, has been absent from such position for more
than 30 days and is over the age of 35, shall  be  eligible  for  provi-
sional  or  permanent  appointment in the competitive class of the civil
service as a police officer of the police department of the  village  of
Oxford,  in  the  county  of  Chenango,  if he shall, at the time of his
appointment, be 40 years of age or younger.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT to grant Cole Samsel eligibility for permanent appointment  as  a
  police officer with the police department of the village of Oxford, in
  the county of Chenango

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of paragraph (a) of  subdivi-
sion  1  or  subdivision 4 of section 58 of the civil service law to the
contrary, Cole Samsel, who previously received a  permanent  appointment
in  the  competitive class of civil service as a police officer with the

to the competitive  examination  for  the  position  of  deputy  sheriff
offered  in  any  county  in  the state and for provisional or permanent
appointment in the competitive class of the civil service  as  a  police

of Chenango, if he shall, at the time of his appointment, be 40 years of
age or younger.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT to grant Cole Samsel eligibility for permanent appointment  as  a
  police officer with the police department of the village of Oxford, in
  the county of Chenango

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of paragraph (a) of  subdivi-
sion  1  or  subdivision 4 of section 58 of the civil service law to the
contrary, Cole Samsel, who previously received a  permanent  appointment
in  the  competitive class of civil service as a police officer with the
sheriff's department of the county of Chenango, resigned from such posi-
tion after several years, has been absent from such  position  for  more
than  30  days  and is over the age of 35, shall be eligible to take the
competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer
and shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be eligible to
be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time  patrolman
for the village of Oxford.
  S  2.  Cole Samsel shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness
provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi-
cers.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
