AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to the establishment of a
  human trafficking hotline

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 75  to
read as follows:
  S  75. HUMAN TRAFFICKING HOTLINE. 1. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL ESTAB-
LISH AND MAINTAIN A TWENTY-FOUR HOUR TOLL-FREE STATEWIDE HOTLINE  NUMBER
FOR USE IN THE INVESTIGATION AND PREVENTION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING.
  2. CALLS MADE TO THE TOLL-FREE STATEWIDE HOTLINE SHALL BE ANONYMOUS.
  3.  THE  ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL REFER INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE
STATEWIDE HOTLINE TO THE APPROPRIATE  DISTRICT  ATTORNEY'S  OFFICE  WITH
JURISDICTION IN THE MATTER.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
it  shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amend-
ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen-
tation of this act on its effective date is authorized to  be  made  and
completed on or before such effective date.

JURISDICTION IN THE MATTER.
  3.  THE  DEPARTMENT  OF LAW SHALL PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS AND
TAKE OTHER ACTIONS NECESSARY FOR THE EFFECTIVE  IMPLEMENTATION  OF  THIS
SECTION,  INCLUDING  AND  NOT  LIMITED  TOO,  THE  PRIVACY AND SAFETY OF
VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition,  amend-
ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen-
