AN  ACT  to  amend the general obligations law, in relation to requiring
  the use of protective nets at sports arenas or facilities

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Article  9  of  the general obligations law is amended by
adding a new title 2 to read as follows:
                                  TITLE 2
                           PROTECTIVE NETTING
SECTION 9-201. DUTIES OF OPERATORS OF SPORTS ARENAS OR FACILITIES.
  S 9-201. DUTIES OF OPERATORS OF SPORTS ARENAS OR FACILITIES. IT  SHALL
BE  THE  DUTY OF ANY OPERATOR OF A SPORTS ARENA OR FACILITY TO EQUIP ALL
ARENAS OR FACILITIES USED FOR COLLEGIATE  OR  PROFESSIONAL  HOCKEY  WITH
PROTECTIVE  NETTING  TO  PROTECT  SPECTATORS IN THE STANDS FROM ANY PUCK
THAT MAY FLY INTO THE STANDS. THE PROTECTIVE  NETTING  SHALL  BE  PLACED
OVER  THE  STANDS  AND  BE  OF A HEIGHT AND MATERIAL ADEQUATE TO PROVIDE
PROTECTION TO SUCH SPECTATORS.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
have become a law.
