GRAF -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to funeral processions THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new section 1144-b to read as follows: S 1144-B. OPERATION OF A VEHICLE; YIELDING TO A FUNERAL PROCESSION. (A) THE DRIVER OF A VEHICLE APPROACHING A FUNERAL PROCESSION, WHICH IS MARKED BY PLACARDS IDENTIFYING A VEHICLE AS SUCH, SHALL YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY TO SUCH PROCESSION. (B) FAILURE TO YIELD TO A FUNERAL PROCESSION, OR TO OTHERWISE INTER- RUPT SUCH PROCESSION WITH A VEHICLE, SHALL BE PENALIZED BY A TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR FINE AND ONE POINT ON SUCH DRIVERS' LICENSE. S 2.
