AN  ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to the duty to register
  and to verify by a sex offender

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Paragraph  (b)  of  subdivision 2 of section 168-f of the
correction law, as added by chapter 192 of the laws of 1995, is  amended
to read as follows:
  (b)  The  verification  form  shall be signed by the sex offender, and
state that he OR SHE still resides at the address last reported  to  the
division.    SUCH  VERIFICATION  FORM SHALL REQUIRE SUCH SEX OFFENDER TO
STATE THE NAME OF ANY SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER  PUBLIC
OR  PRIVATE, IN GRADES PRE-KINDERGARTEN THROUGH TWELFTH WHICH IS LOCATED
WITHIN A ONE-HALF MILE RADIUS OF SUCH OFFENDER'S PLACE OF RESIDENCE.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
it shall have become a law.
