RIVERA, WEIS- ENBERG -- read once and referred to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to the statewide goals and objectives of the offices of the department of mental hygiene THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subparagraph e of paragraph 1 of subdivision (a) of section 5.07 of the mental hygiene law, as amended by chapter 223 of the laws of 1992, is amended to read as follows: e. emphasize that gaps in services be IDENTIFIED AND filled, and that services are provided to the multiply disabled. S 2. Subparagraphs i and j of paragraph 2 of subdivision (b) of section 5.07 of the mental hygiene law, subparagraph i as amended and subparagraph j as added by section 1 of part E of chapter 58 of the laws of 2007, are amended to read as follows: i. A REVIEW AND EVALUATION OF AN IMPLEMENTED OR PLANNED SHIFT AND/OR INCREASE IN MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FUNDING FOR SERVICES; J. to the extent practicable, all such information required pursuant to this paragraph shall be provided on a statewide, regional and indi- vidual state-operated hospital and state-operated research institute basis; and [j.] K. recommendations on the provision of state and local mental health services based on the development of best practices by programs promoting culturally and linguistically competent mental health services. S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
