AN  ACT  to  amend  the  general municipal law and the education law, in
  relation to authorizing municipal corporations to consolidate services

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. The general municipal law is amended by adding a new arti-
cle 17-B to read as follows:
                               ARTICLE 17-B
                        CONSOLIDATION OF SERVICES
SECTION 795. CONSOLIDATION OF SERVICES.
  S 795. CONSOLIDATION OF SERVICES. ANY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION MAY  ENTER
INTO  AN AGREEMENT WITH ANY OTHER MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, SCHOOL DISTRICT
OR BOARD OF COOPERATIVE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES FOR THE SHARING OF SERVICES
AND FUNCTIONS.
  S 2. The education law is amended by adding a new  section  1510-a  to
read as follows:
  S  1510-A.  SHARING OF SERVICES. ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT, BOARD OF COOPER-
ATIVE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES OR MUNICIPAL CORPORATION,  AS  THAT  TERM  IS
DEFINED  BY  SECTION TWO OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW, MAY ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH ANY OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICT, BOARD  OF  COOPERATIVE  EDUCA-
TIONAL SERVICES OR MUNICIPAL CORPORATION FOR THE SHARING OF SERVICES AND
FUNCTIONS.
  S  3.  Section  1604  of  the education law is amended by adding a new
subdivision 43 to read as follows:
  43. TO AGREE OR CONTRACT WITH ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT,  BOARD  OF  COOPER-
ATIVE  EDUCATIONAL  SERVICES  OR  MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AS THAT TERM IS

 EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets
                      [ ] is old law to be omitted.
