AN  ACT  to amend section 1 of part T of chapter 58 of the laws of 2013,
  relating to requiring the New York state energy research and  develop-
  ment  authority to develop recommendations regarding the establishment
  of microgrids, in relation to including certain not-for-profit  organ-
  izations for collaboration purposes for microgrids

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision (a) of section 1 of part T of chapter 58 of the
laws of 2013, relating to requiring the New York state  energy  research
and  development  authority  to  develop  recommendations  regarding the
establishment of microgrids, is amended to read as follows:
  (a) Whether hospitals, first responder headquarters,  such  as  police
and fire stations, emergency shelters, schools, water filtration plants,
sewage    treatment   plants,   municipalities,   commercial   entities,
NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WITH A MISSION TO ASSIST IN DISASTER RELIEF
AND RECOVERY, and other locations in the state of New York may desire to
collaborate on successful microgrids;
   2. This act shall take effect immediately.
