STECK -- read once and referred to the Committee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the uniform city court act, in relation to authorizing evening court hours in cities with a population of two hundred fifty thousand or less THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The uniform city court act is amended by adding a new section 2105 to read as follows: S 2105. HOLDING OF COURT. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, RULE OR REGULATION TO THE CONTRARY, A CITY WITH A POPULATION OF TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND OR LESS MAY EXTEND THE HOURS DURING WHICH THE CITY CONDUCTS COURT PROCEEDINGS TO INCLUDE EVENINGS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING MATTERS THAT ARE NEITHER CHARGED AS MISDEMEANORS NOR FELONIES. S 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
