AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to  creating  a  motor  vehicle
 fuel tax-free period
 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1. The tax law is amended by adding a  new  section  284-f  to
 read as follows:

 

S 284-F. TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CERTAIN TAXES ON GASOLINE AND SIMILAR
 MOTOR  FUELS.  NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION OF LAW TO THE CONTRARY, THE
 TAXES IMPOSED ON MOTOR VEHICLE GASOLINE AND MOTOR DIESEL FUEL IMPOSED BY
 THIS ARTICLE SHALL BE SUSPENDED DURING THE PERIOD COMMENCING ON THE LAST
 MONDAY IN MAY, KNOWN AS MEMORIAL DAY, AND ENDING ON THE FIRST MONDAY  OF
 SEPTEMBER, KNOWN AS LABOR DAY.
 

S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 [ ] is old law to be omitted.
