Commending Brent Jordan, 2013 Valedictorian of Kingston High School

LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  commending  Brent Jordan, 2013 Valedictorian of
Kingston High School in recognition of his outstanding accomplishment

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today -- the leaders of tomorrow --  whose  character  and  achievements
exemplify  the  ideals  and  values  cherished  by  this great State and
Nation; and
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
standing  traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to recognize
and commend Brent  Jordan,  the  2013  Valedictorian  of  Kingston  High
School,  Kingston,  New York, in recognition of his outstanding academic
performance and exemplary achievement; and
  WHEREAS, Brent Jordan is graduating with a 101 Grade Point Average and
plans to attend Notre Dame University and major in engineering; and
  WHEREAS, Brent Jordan has been an active  and  valued  member  of  the
Kingston High School community; in addition to being a member of the KHS
football and basketball teams, he has been the Treasurer of the Class of
2013 for the past two years; he has also spearheaded charity food drives
for the Queens Galley, a local soup kitchen; and
  WHEREAS,  Brent  Jordan  may  now  stand with pride as he assesses his
achievements, experiences the satisfaction of his labors and the joy  of
his  accomplishments, eager to face the new experiences of a challenging
world; and
  WHEREAS, This exceptional student of Kingston High  School  represents
the  potential  inherent  in  our most precious resource, our youth; his
achievements have brought enduring honor to his family and community and
should be recognized and saluted; and
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend  students
of  outstanding  character who have shown initiative and a commitment to
constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and act as role  models
of leadership to be emulated by their peers; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Brent Jordan, 2013 Valedictorian of  Kingston  High  School,  in
recognition  of his outstanding accomplishment, and to extend to him the
best wishes of this Legislative Body for a future of purposeful  success
and well-being; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brent Jordan.
