LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  commending Community Board 14 upon the occasion
of hosting its Sixth Annual Youth Conference event

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State  of  New  York  to
recognize  and  acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
  WHEREAS, From time to  time,  this  Legislative  Body  takes  note  of
certain  extraordinary  organizations  it  wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud  to  commend  Community
Board  14 upon the occasion of hosting its Sixth Annual Youth Conference
event on Wednesday, April 24, 2013,  at  the  Brooklyn  College  Student
Center in Brooklyn, New York; and
  WHEREAS, All youth, ages 12-20, are invited to attend this great event
to  find out about jobs, internships, educational and volunteer opportu-
nities, as well as additional services offered to young  people  in  the
community  by  various government agencies, non-profit organizations and
local businesses; and
  WHEREAS, A not-for-profit organization and a true  asset  to  society,
Community  Board  14  is  dedicated to improving the lives of Brooklyn's
residents; its long history of charity  is  a  testament  to  the  moral
responsibility of supporting and helping to provide for youth; and
  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of  this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown  a
long  and  sustained  commitment to excellence certainly have earned our
recognition and applause; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
commend Community Board 14 upon the occasion of hosting its Sixth Annual
Youth Conference event; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted  to  Community  Board  14  and to Neil Brier and Jonathan Judge,
Co-Chairs, Youth Services Committee.
