LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION congratulating Noah Landers upon the occasion of
winning the Seventh Annual James and  Katherine  Andrews,  Young  Artist
Instrumental Competition

WHEREAS,  It  is  the intent of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding  success  in
musical  competition,  have  inspired  and brought pride to our majestic
Empire State; and
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
standing  traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Noah Landers upon the occasion of winning the Seventh Annual  James
and Katherine Andrews, Young Artist Instrumental Competition; and
  WHEREAS,  This  outstanding  15 year-old young man, the son of William
and Vicki Landers of Watertown, New York, is  a  sophomore  at  Carthage
Central High School; and
  WHEREAS,  As  a  result of his hard work, dedication and perseverance,
Noah Landers, who has been playing the piano  since  the  young  age  of
five,  was  chosen  to compete in the James and Katherine Andrews, Young
Artist Instrumental Competition in January of 2013; and
  WHEREAS, The Andrews Young Artist Instrumental Competition is open  to
high  school  students  from  St.  Lawrence,  Lewis, Jefferson, Clinton,
Essex, Franklin, Warren and Hamilton Counties; and
  WHEREAS, Noah Landers was named the winner of the competition in which
he performed Concerto in G Minor by C. Saint-Saens; and
  WHEREAS, Noah Landers was also chosen as one of 15 competitors in  the
10th  Annual  Thousand  Island International Piano Competition for Young
People, a competition which draws youth ages 9 to  25  from  around  the
world;  it  was held at Maple Grove Estate in Cape Vincent, New York, in
September of 2012; and
  WHEREAS, Noah Landers was awarded  Honorable  Mention  in  the  Junior
Division  as  well  as  the Audience Favorite Award in the International
Competition; and
  WHEREAS, This exceptional student with his zest for life and drive for
success, has inspired and enhanced the lives of his family and  friends;
and
  WHEREAS, Noah Landers exemplifies the best potential which is inherent
in  our most precious resource, our youth; he has brought enduring honor
to his family and his community  through  his  many  achievements;  now,
therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Noah Landers upon the occasion of winning the Seventh Annual James
and Katherine Andrews, Young Artist Instrumental Competition; and be  it
further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Noah Landers.
