LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring  Gregg Sagendorph upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement  Award  by  the
Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS,  It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New  York  State
are  reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor  Gregg  Sagen-
dorph  upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Lifetime
Achievement Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce on Friday,  April
19, 2013, at the Cyprus Shrine Center in Glenmont, New York; and
  WHEREAS,  Gregg  Sagendorph  is  being  honored for nearly 41 years of
service to the Town of Bethlehem, with over 20 of  those  years  as  the
Town  of  Bethlehem  Highway Superintendent; he began his public service
career as an equipment operator and worked his way up; and
  WHEREAS, In his position with the Highway Department, Gregg Sagendorph
was involved in overseeing very visible town activities,  including  the
Memorial Day parade, Holiday parade, which included the tree and menorah
lighting,  and  Independence  Day  celebrations; he was also involved in
working with the beautification committee,  which  was  responsible  for
planting  trees and flowers around town, along with managing the instal-
lation of the vintage clock at the Four Corners; and
  WHEREAS, Gregg Sagendorph has been described as being the first one to
work and the last one to leave; his dedication to the Town of  Bethlehem
has earned him respect from those he has worked with throughout his long
career; and
  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of  this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown  a
long  and  sustained  commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
honor Gregg Sagendorph upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of  the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gregg Sagendorph.
