LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the members of the Lions Club of Great
Neck who were honored at its March 19, 2013 meeting

WHEREAS,  It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize individ-
uals and organizations which work to improve the  quality  of  life  for
others; and
  WHEREAS,  Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor  the
members  of  the  Lions Club of Great Neck who were honored at its March
19, 2013 meeting; and
  WHEREAS, The Lions Club of Great Neck, New York, and its  members  are
renowned  for their dedication to the Great Neck community and the resi-
dents thereof; part of a worldwide service club  organization  known  as
the International Association of Lions Clubs, with nearly one and a half
million  members  dedicated  to  identifying and meeting local community
needs, the Great Neck Lions Club may be justly proud of its  history  of
support  of  Lions Clubs International and of local charitable projects;
and
  WHEREAS, At its March 19, 2013 meeting the Lions Club  of  Great  Neck
fittingly  honored  several  of  its  members  for  their dedication and
outstanding involvement and support of its worthy endeavors; and
  WHEREAS, Membership Chair Brooke Weisberg received the Uplinger Award,
the highest award given by the state Lions Club organization, and Melvin
Jones Awards for dedicated humanitarian  services  to  the  Lions  Clubs
International  Foundation were presented to Fern Weiss, President of the
Lions Club of Great Neck; Cathleen Pinnella, Secretary;  John  Pinnella,
Former  President  and  Former  District Governor; and Gloria Brady, the
first female president of the Lions Club of Great Neck; and
  WHEREAS, The Great Neck Lions  Club  and  its  members  exemplify  the
Lions'  motto, "WE SERVE"; the dedication to community service prevalent
among all those associated with the  club  merits  the  recognition  and
applause  of this Legislative Body and the appreciation of all those who
benefit from its services; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
commend the Lions Club of Great Neck and its members who were honored at
its March 19, 2013 meeting; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted  to  the Lions Club of Great Neck and to each of its members who
were honored at its March 19, 2013 meeting.
