LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring  Akron-Newstead Senior Center upon the
occasion of its designation by the Akron  Chamber  of  Commerce  as  the
recipient of its 2013 Organization of the Year Award

WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of  this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders  of  commerce  and  industry  whose  accomplishments
contribute  to  the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York and organizations and individuals whose purposeful
endeavors, as involved members of the community, enhance the quality  of
life therein; and
  WHEREAS,  Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly  proud  to  commend
Akron-Newstead Senior Center upon the occasion of its designation by the
Akron  Chamber  of Commerce as the recipient of its 2013 Organization of
the Year Award; and
  WHEREAS, Akron-Newstead Senior Center will be  honored  by  the  Akron
Chamber of Commerce at its Annual Banquet on Thursday, May 9, 2013; and
  WHEREAS,  The  Akron-Newstead Senior Center is a true provider for its
senior citizens; the center does so much in creating various activities;
and
  WHEREAS, A summary of reasons the Akron-Newstead Senior Center  should
be  meritoriously  acknowledged include: numerous friends and companion-
ship; the Center's safe driving course;  dominoes  and  pinochle  teams;
bingo;  wholesome full course lunches; full exercise programs; organized
dances, trips, and outings; arts and  craft  classes;  and  the  lending
library; and
  WHEREAS,  It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when the noble
aims and accomplishments of organizations such as Akron-Newstead  Senior
Center  are  brought  to  our  attention  it  is appropriate to publicly
proclaim and commend them for the edification and emulation  of  others;
now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Akron-Newstead Senior Center upon the occasion of its  designation
by  the Akron Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of its 2013 Organiza-
tion of the Year Award; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Akron-Newstead Senior Center.
