LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Phil Ammirato upon the occasion of
his  designation for special recognition as Honoree of the Townwide Fund
of Huntington Inc.'s 2013 golf outing

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize  and  pay
tribute  to those distinguished citizens who devote their time and ener-
gies to the service of their community and profession, participating  in
civic  affairs  and  enhancing the character and quality of life for all
citizens; and
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
standing  traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Phil Ammirato upon the occasion  of  his  designation  for  special
recognition  as  Honoree  of the Townwide Fund of Huntington Inc.'s 2013
golf outing; this auspicious occasion will be  celebrated  on  Thursday,
May  16,  2013, at the Huntington Crescent Club in Huntington, New York;
and
  WHEREAS, The Townwide Fund of Huntington was  founded  in  1961  by  a
group  of  private  citizens  who  wanted  to help local charities raise
funds; the organization's essential mission is to keep money  raised  in
Huntington within the community so as to infuse local organizations with
the  support they need to provide vital health and human services to the
people of Huntington; and
  WHEREAS, As a non-governmental agency, The Townwide Fund of Huntington
bridges the gap between governmental support for local charities and the
increasing needs of community residents; and
  WHEREAS, Annually,The Townwide Fund sponsors a golf outing, which adds
significant funds to support the Fund's worthy and much needed services;
and
  WHEREAS, A banker on Long Island and New York City for over 30  years,
Phil Ammirato is a Senior Vice President and the Regional Vice President
for  the  Suffolk  County  region for TD Bank; he is responsible for the
bank's commercial lending activities across 24 locations in the  county;
and
  WHEREAS,  Phil  Ammirato  has been active in his community; his volun-
teerism includes working with the Hofstra Accounting Department Advisory
Board, Cleary Deaf Child Foundation and John Glenn Football Alumni Asso-
ciation; and
  WHEREAS, Born, raised and  educated  on  Long  Island,  Phil  Ammirato
resides with his wife and two children in Greenlawn, New York; and
  WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty  service,  a  period  of  constructive involvement, Phil Ammirato has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
  WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Phil Ammirato has displayed through-
out his life; and
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of  this  Legislative  Body  that  those  who
enhance  the  well-being and vitality of their profession and community,
and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence,  certainly
have  earned  the recognition and applause of all citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Phil  Ammirato  upon  the  occasion of his designation for
special recognition as Honoree  of  the  Townwide  Fund  of  Huntington,
Inc.'s 2013 golf outing; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Phil Ammirato.
