Honoring Rabbi Rami Strosberg as recipient of the Gemilut Chasadim Award

LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  honoring Rabbi Rami Strosberg upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Gemilut Chasadim Award by Congre-
gation Beth Israel

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride  in  acknowledging  its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
  WHEREAS,  Rabbi  Rami  Strosberg will be recognized with a prestigious
Gemilut Chasadim Award during a dinner at Congregation  Beth  Israel  on
May 5, 2013; and
  WHEREAS,  Growing  up in Congregation Beth Israel, Rabbi Strosberg was
active in the National Conference of Synagogue Youth,  taught  music  at
Temple  Israel,  served as Music Director at Camp Givah, and managed the
Strosberg Boys Band; and
  WHEREAS, He attended the Hebrew Academy of the  Capital  District  and
Niskayuna  High School; he studied for two years at Yeshivat Hakotel and
later earned a bachelors in psychology from Yeshiva University,  S'micha
at  the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and Masters in Jewish
Education at the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and  Admin-
istration at Yeshiva University; and
  WHEREAS,  Rabbi  Strosberg taught at the Ramaz School in Manhattan and
performed with and led a variety of Jewish Simcha Bands; he has  brought
Jewish music to Israel, Guatemala, and South Africa; and
  WHEREAS, He was hired as Judaic Studies Principal at the Hebrew Acade-
my  of  the Capital District in 2007; one year later, he was promoted to
Head of School; and
  WHEREAS, In this position, Rabbi Strosberg participated in a  two-year
Day School Leadership Training Institute sponsored by the Avi Chai Foun-
dation; and
  WHEREAS,  He  has given generously of his time and kindness to Congre-
gation Beth Israel and Congregation Beth Abraham Jacob as mentor, cantor
and hospitable host to visitors and newcomers; and
  WHEREAS, Rabbi Strosberg and his loving wife, Debbie Greene,  are  the
proud parents of Elnatan, Leor, and Eliav; and
  WHEREAS,  He  has  exhibited  the  true spirit of the Gemilut Chasadim
Award through his extraordinary dedication to Congregation Beth  Israel;
now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rabbi Rami Strosberg upon  the  occasion  of  his  designation  as
recipient of the Gemilut Chasadim Award by Congregation Beth Israel; and
be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rabbi Rami Strosberg.
