LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Pepper Robinson upon the occasion of her
designation  as recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award by the Inwood
Civic Association on April 28, 2013

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and  serve  the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
  WHEREAS,  Pepper  Robinson has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special recognition; and
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Pepper  Robin-
son  upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Citizen of
the Year Award by the Inwood Civic Association to  be  celebrated  at  a
dinner  dance on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at P.F.C. John J. Oliveri Hall,
Inwood, New York; and
  WHEREAS, Pepper Robinson has an  extensive  history  of  working  with
children;  she  has  been dedicating her time and efforts to help enrich
the lives of young ones for more than 40 years; and
  WHEREAS, This outstanding woman  holds  a  master's  degree  in  Early
Childhood/Elementary Education from Adelphi University; and
  WHEREAS,  Pepper  Robinson has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and  has  always
given of herself unstintingly; and
  WHEREAS,  Pepper  Robinson  is  an  active  member and church elder at
United Church of Rockville Centre, where she taught  Sunday  School  for
many  years;  she  has  been  a part of the Inwood community since 2004,
taking over as the Director for Five Towns Early Learning Center; and
  WHEREAS, In this capacity, Pepper Robinson helped the Center transform
its playground and facade into an environment deserving of the children;
and
  WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period  of  her  community  service,  a
period  of  constructive involvement, Pepper Robinson has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
  WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit  of  others  which  Pepper  Robinson  has  displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pepper Robinson upon the occasion of her designation as  recipient
of  the  Citizen  of  the  Year Award by the Inwood Civic Association on
April 28, 2013; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Pepper Robinson.
