LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps
upon the occasion of its 50th Anniversary

WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to organizations within the State  of  New  York  which  provide
vital emergency medical rescue services; and
  WHEREAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly  proud  to  commend
the  Yorktown  Volunteer  Ambulance  Corps upon the occasion of its 50th
Anniversary, to be celebrated with a gala 50th Anniversary Dinner  Dance
to be held at the Ceola Manor in Jefferson Valley, New York; and
  WHEREAS,  Since  1963  the  Yorktown  Volunteer  Ambulance  Corps  has
responded to medical emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and
  WHEREAS, Access to quality emergency care  dramatically  improves  the
survival  and  recovery  rate  of those who experience sudden illness or
injury; throughout the 50-year history of the Yorktown  Volunteer  Ambu-
lance Corps, its members have worked tirelessly to bring the best quali-
ty  of  care  to the residents of Yorktown, New York and its surrounding
communities; and
  WHEREAS, The Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps has  proudly  provided
Emergency  Medical Services to the community for 50 years; from the days
of simple First Aid in the back of  an  ambulance  to  the  most  modern
sophistication  of today's Advanced Life Support, the Yorktown Volunteer
Ambulance Corps responds to calls for EMS  assistance  whenever  needed;
and
  WHEREAS,  All  the  individuals associated with the Yorktown Volunteer
Ambulance Corps, past and present, merit the  highest  commendation  for
their  contributions to the noble missions of this life-saving organiza-
tion; and
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when  organiza-
tions  of  such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all  the  citizens  of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps upon the occasion of  its
50th Anniversary; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
