LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Bill Oehrlein upon the occasion of his
designation  as  the  recipient  of a Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps
Lifetime Member Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize  and  pay
tribute to citizens of the State of New York who provide vital emergency
medical rescue services; and
  WHEREAS,  Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly  proud  to  commend
Bill Oehrlein upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient of a
Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Lifetime Member Award; and
  WHEREAS, Bill Oehrlein was honored at the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance
Corps'  50th Anniversary Dinner Dance held at the Ceola Manor in Jeffer-
son Valley, New York on Saturday, April 6, 2013; and
  WHEREAS,  Since  1963  the  Yorktown  Volunteer  Ambulance  Corps  has
responded to medical emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and
  WHEREAS,  Access  to  quality emergency care dramatically improves the
survival and recovery rate of those who  experience  sudden  illness  or
injury;  throughout  the 50-year history of the Yorktown Volunteer Ambu-
lance Corps, its members have worked tirelessly to bring the best quali-
ty of care to the residents of Yorktown, New York  and  its  surrounding
communities; and
  WHEREAS,  The  Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps has proudly provided
Emergency Medical Services to the community for 50 years; from the  days
of  simple  First  Aid  in  the  back of an ambulance to the most modern
sophistication of today's Advanced Life Support, the Yorktown  Volunteer
Ambulance  Corps  responds  to calls for EMS assistance whenever needed;
and
  WHEREAS, Bill Oehrlein and all the other individuals  associated  with
the  Yorktown  Volunteer  Ambulance  Corps,  past and present, merit the
highest commendation for their contributions to the  noble  missions  of
this life-saving organization; and
  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations  of  such  noble  aims  and  accomplishments  are
brought  to  our  attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
commend Bill Oehrlein upon the occasion of his designation as the recip-
ient  of a Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Lifetime Member Award; and
be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bill Oehrlein.
