LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Mexico Academy and Central
School District for its recognition as a top National Digital School

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the Mexi-
co Academy and Central School District upon the occasion of its recogni-
tion as one of the country's 2013 top digital schools, by the Center for
Digital Education and the National School Boards Association; and
WHEREAS, This recognition honors schools that heavily use technology
to  communicate  with students, as well as with parents in the district;
and
WHEREAS, Mexico was one of only two New York schools to achieve this
recognition in 2013; and
WHEREAS, This recognition was made possible because Mexico has made
technology one if its foremost priorities, which has allowed students to
read and write greater amounts of text, create stronger messages with
their work, and connect with new ideas; and
WHEREAS, The Mexico Academy and Central School District has shown its
commitment to the value of education and the importance of developing
students' abilities in a digital world; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that when insti-
tutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Mexico Academy and Central School District upon its
recognition as a top National Digital School; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Mexico Academy and Central School District.
