LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION honoring Andrew Krahm upon the occasion of being
named the 2013 Junior Firefighter of the Year by the National  Volunteer
Fire Council

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its  long-standing  traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the  ideals
and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to honor Andrew Krahm upon the
occasion  of  being named the 2013 Junior Firefighter of the Year by the
National Volunteer Fire Council; and
  WHEREAS, Andrew Krahm will be recognized  for  this  admirable  desig-
nation during a special banquet at the National Volunteer Fire Council's
spring meeting in Virginia; and
  WHEREAS,  Andrew  Krahm,  a Rockville Centre teenager, has been desig-
nated with this auspicious  recognition  for  his  diligent  efforts  in
establishing a junior firefighter program in his hometown; and
  WHEREAS,  A senior at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School in Hicksville,
New York, 17 year-old Andrew Krahm received a training/education stipend
and a complimentary one-year council membership; and
  WHEREAS, To launch the junior program, Andrew Krahm spent  many  hours
drafting  bylaws and presenting them to local fire department and commu-
nity officials between 2009 and 2011; and
  WHEREAS, He was elected the  program's  first  captain  and  organizes
monthly  meetings  and training and serves as a liaison with parents and
the department; and
  WHEREAS, Andrew Krahm is a member of  the  varsity  track  and  soccer
teams, as well as the Tri-M Music Honor Society; and
  WHEREAS,  Poised  eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
Junior Firefighter now stands honorably, with just pride in  his  accom-
plishments and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding
and appreciating the caring counsel and support provided by Senior Fire-
fighters, mentors, and his parents; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Andrew Krahm upon the occasion of  being  named  the  2013  Junior
Firefighter  of  the Year by the National Volunteer Fire Council; and be
it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Andrew Krahm.
