LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION mourning the untimely passing and paying tribute
to the life and valiant service  of  West  Webster  Volunteer  Firemen's
Association  Firefighter  Tomasz Marian Kaczowka who died in the line of
duty on December 24, 2012

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body  to  pay  tribute  to
citizens  of  the  State  of  New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
  WHEREAS, Citizens across our State and  Nation  are  inspired  by  and
indebted to our noble firefighters who exhibit courage and bravery every
day  in  the  course of their duties; 19-year-old Tomasz Marian Kaczowka
was one such firefighter who died in service to others,  doing  what  he
loved; and
  WHEREAS,  A  2011  Webster  Thomas High School graduate, Tomasz Marian
Kaczowka was an extraordinary, intelligent  young  man  who  was  mature
beyond his years; and
  WHEREAS,  A  rising  star  within  the  Department, one year ago young
Tomasz Marian Kaczowka proudly joined the West Webster  Volunteer  Fire-
men's  Association;  throughout  the  Association, he was affectionately
known as everyone's "little brother"; and
  WHEREAS, Tomasz Marian Kaczowka was employed as an Emergency  Dispatch
Operator  for the City of Rochester, Monroe County; he was also an Altar
Boy at St. Stanislaus Church in Rochester; and
  WHEREAS, Tomasz Marian Kaczowka is survived by his mother, Janina, his
father, Marian, and his older twin brothers, Dariusz and Greg; and
  WHEREAS,  The  West  Webster  Volunteer  Firemen's  Assocation  is  an
extended  family and will always remember this outstanding young man for
the hard work and dedication he showed the fire company as well  as  the
community, but most importantly, for his quality of character; and
  WHEREAS,  During  his life, Firefighter Tomasz Marian Kaczowka touched
many through his kindness and commitment to service, and, as  we  recall
the  loss  of this great man, we memorialize his remarkable life and the
enormous impact he had on everyone with whom he came in contact; and
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to convey its grate-
ful appreciation and heartfelt regret in recognition of the loss of this
courageous firefighter who dedicated his purposeful life and  career  in
faithful service to his family and community; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED,  That  this  Legislative  Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the untimely passing and pay  tribute  to  the  life  and  valiant
service  of  West  Webster  Volunteer  Firemen's Association Firefighter
Tomasz Marian Kaczowka, and to express its deepest  condolences  to  his
family; and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Firefighter Tomasz Marian Kaczowka.
