LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Janine Paddock upon the occasion of her
induction into the Campground Owners of New York Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
individuals and organizations within the great State of New York that
are dedicated to the preservation of our natural environment; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Janine Paddock upon the occasion of her induction into the Campground
Owners of New York Hall of Fame on Saturday, November 3, 2012; and
WHEREAS, This fine event is Campground Owners of New York's (CONY)
49th Annual Exposition for the Outdoor Hospitality Industry, to be held
in Lake George, New York; and
WHEREAS, Since 1982, Janine Paddock has served as co-owner of Deer
River Campsite in Malone, New York; along with her husband, Gil, they
have owned Deer River Campsite and have been active in CONY since join-
ing the association in 1982; and
WHEREAS, Janine Paddock is a Past President of the board of directors,
having served from 2001-2007; she also served as Vice President of the
board, CONY Region 8 Director, and as CONY Conference Chairperson; in
addition, she is joining Gil as a fellow member of the Hall of Fame with
her induction; and
WHEREAS, CONY Hall of Fame members are nominated based on a variety of
factors, including service to CONY or its board of directors, other
leadership roles both in CONY and in their communities, community
service, and championship of the outdoor hospitality industry; Janine
Paddock will be the 15th inductee into the Hall of Fame in CONY's 49
years of operation as a trade association; and
WHEREAS, Janine Paddock attended Hudson Valley Community College for
Dental Hygiene in Troy, New York, and for Nursing at Champlain Valley
School of Nursing in Plattsburgh; she worked in both the dental and
medical professions from 1972 to 2004; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, in addition to her trained professions and
campground ownership, Janine Paddock has served as a Red Cross Certified
Instructor Trainer in Advanced First Aid, a volunteer member and Past
Chief of the Duane Fire Department, a volunteer coach for the Franklin
Academy Speech and Debate Team, and Chairperson of the Franklin Academy
High School Improvement Committee; and
WHEREAS, Janine Paddock is a dedicated and hands-on advocate for
CONY's mission of promotion, growth, improvement and development of
privately owned campgrounds in New York State; in reference to camp-
grounds, she and Gil have worked tirelessly over the years on regu-
lations of the Adirondack Park Agency; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Janine Paddock's distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Janine Paddock upon the occasion of her induction into the Camp-
ground Owners of New York Hall of Fame; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Janine Paddock.
