LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ambur Point of Sale upon the occasion of
its  designation  as  recipient  of  the  2013  Trailblazer Award by the
Amherst Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that  the
quality  and  character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of  business  organ-
izations  and  individuals  that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its  long-
standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is justly proud to honor
Ambur Point of Sale upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the 2013 Trailblazer Award by the  Amherst  Chamber  of  Commerce;  this
auspicious  occasion  will  be  celebrated at the Chamber's annual Small
Business Awards Luncheon, to  be  held  on  Friday,  May  17,  2013,  at
Samuel's Grande Manor in Buffalo, New York; and
  WHEREAS,  Co-founded  by  Ansar  Khan  and  James  O'Leary  who met at
Williamsville North High School, Ambur Point of Sale assists independent
restaurant owners take back control of their business; and
  WHEREAS, Ambur Point of Sale fills in the gap between using  an  elec-
tronic cash register or spending tens of thousands of dollars on complex
IT  systems;  it  provides  clients  the opportunity to understand their
point of sale, without the need to hire an expensive IT consultant; and
  WHEREAS, Serving over 550 clients from 26 countries across the  globe,
the  hallmark  of  the  Ambur  Point  of Sale system is the ability of a
client restaurant to send tickets to the kitchen directly from an  easy-
to-use  Apple  device  at the table; this increases table turnover rate,
decreases the number of human errors,  and  improves  server-to-customer
interaction; and
  WHEREAS,  Ambur Point of Sale has grown exponentially since its launch
in April 2011; from its beginnings in a small Amherst apartment back  in
2010,  the  company has since moved into the University at Buffalo Tech-
nology Incubator; it has seven new employees, most of whom  are  Buffalo
natives and graduates of the University of Buffalo; and
  WHEREAS,  This  auspicious  occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute  to  Ambur  Point  of
Sale; and
  WHEREAS,  It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an organ-
ization of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our  atten-
tion,  it should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to
honor Ambur Point of Sale upon the occasion of its designation as recip-
ient  of  the 2013 Trailblazer Award by the Amherst Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ambur Point of Sale.
